First Fruit Celebration

First Fruit Celebration

December 15, 2017

On January 7, the first Sunday of 2018, we will gather together for worship, thanking God for bringing us through yet another year and all He will do in the year to come. Just as with the Israelites, our First fruit offerings are a demonstration of our love, faith and gratitude, acknowledging God’s unfailing love for us expressed through His deliverance and provision. This sacrificial offering also activates the Word and promises of God, setting the stage for the marvelous things He will continue to do on our behalf. Don’t miss out!

Prepare For Leadership and Ministry

Prepare For Leadership and Ministry

October 27, 2015

During our September Leadership Session, Bishop Thomas mentioned the book  Cracking Church Culture  by Samuel Chand, and asked for all leaders to purchase and read it before our November Leadership Session, Saturday, January 9, 2016, 9:00 a.m.!

There is much God wants to do with us, so let’s gain as much insight and wisdom as possible, and continue this journey of “Providing World Class Ministry Deserving of an Awesome God.”

Yet, Lord my God, give attention to your servant’s prayer and his plea for mercy. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence

Food for Those Who Need It

Food for Those Who Need It

March 6, 2013

bag of groceries for food pantryWe’ve opened a food pantry providing groceries twice a month to those who need them. You do not have to be a member of Highview to come for food.  Please use the lower entrance at Highview at the times scheduled below. (Please note that the schedule is being tested, so check back here to confirm).

2nd Saturday of every month: 10 am – 2 pm

4th Thursday of every month: 4 pm – 8 pm

This pantry was opened in partnership with Harvest House Community Development Corporation, based in Baltimore.  The inspiring leaders of Harvest House supply our pantry with non-perishables they collect from food banks and private donors as well as with fresh produce that is hand-picked by volunteers at a farm in Pennsylvania.

You can help
We need volunteers to staff the pantry on the scheduled days and to pack bags of food the night before. Please contact brother Tony Walker to sign up for your shift. We also need help getting the word out to the community that food is available. You may contribute non-perishable food at any time by leaving it in the donation box just inside our lower lobby door.

Special volunteer opportunity at Orioles games
In April and May Harvest House needs ten volunteers to staff a fundraising concession stand at each of seven Baltimore Orioles games. Take your teens to sell hot dogs for the hungry while enjoying the energy of the game. Check here for a schedule of mandatory training sessions in March or April.
